Help: Bidding |
There are two ways to buy Wisdens, via Auction (where you bid) or Buy Now (available immediately at the price shown, just like a shop), Buy Now - To purchase this item just log in, go to the lot in question where you see the details, then page down to the bottom of the screen and click the Buy Now button. Then click Confirm. It is then your book, no need to wait for an auction to end. The seller will issue an invoice or you can pay by PayPal for lots that have allowed PayPal transactions. Auction - Bidding on an auction is done in specified increments. The user with the highest successful bid "wins" the auction. Auctions use Proxy Bidding (see definition below). Proxy Bidding - An automatic method of bidding that increases your bid to the next lowest price when another user bids on the same item. Your bid is increased until your maximum bid amount is reached or the auction ends. For example - You want to bid £100 on a Wisden, the next highest bidder has bid £70 hence you register a bid of £71 (1 bid increment over £70) , if the other bidder bids again you will automatically outbid them until they bid over £100. Note : A bid under the Reserve Price - If your maximum bid is less than the reserve price for an item then your full bid is registered against that lot, not 1 increment about the next highest bid. Fixed Price Item - All Fixed Price items are Buy Now, offers can be made by the item Q&A section (for fixed price only). Sniper Control - WisdenAuction.Com uses sniper control. Sniper control extends the auction by 2 minutes if a bid is placed within the last 2 minutes of the lots end time. Ask The Seller - At the bottom of every listing there is a "Comments" section where you can ask the Seller a question, or view previous questions from other users. When submitting a question to a Seller, the message gets sent directly to their email address on file. The Seller can respond by following the link in the email. To ask the Seller a question:
