Hi,
This lot is an 1898 Original Hardback Wisden. In Superb condition
The first Hardback that Wisden produced was in 1896, this is the third year of the hardback and an extremely hard copy to find, especially in this condition.
The covers are in fabulous condition, the front board is mark free and nearly shiny, with very bright gilt to the front board. Slight fading to spine gilts and mark free rear board. Internally the pages are nice and clean, the hinges look very strong although the front hinge looks like it has signs of a professional repair (hard to tell). Minor weakness between the odd page but being picky. Great photoplate.
A rare Wisden in superb condition and a very nice price. Since we started in 2008 we have sold 3 previously. This is in better conditon than the previous 3
They sold for : Oct 2010 @ £8500 - Nov 2011 @ £7700 - Feb 2013 @ £8950.
