Hi,
This lot is a 1933 Original Hardback Wisden in Good Condition, very good for the year.
Wisden chaaged materials in 1933 and the quality of the books suffered as a result, hence why 1933-1936 seem a lot more faded than the early 1920s Hardbacks. This 1933 is pretty average on the outside and slightly better than average on the inside.
This book is a tale of two stories, externally the gilt to the front is rather dark and all the spine gilt has faded. Nice boards but some marks, compare this to the insides which for the year are fabulous, the hinges are both strong, nice yellow pastedowns (you can see 2 inches of mesh at the rear hinge but still strong) clean pages and feels unread. Excellent photoplate.
