This lot is the rare 1938 Original Hardback. The FIRST year of the new style hardback.
This book is in good condition for a 1938 which being the first one usual has the odd issue. This book has nice boards, a little but dark as is the gilt, I wouldnt say it was faded as normal more darkened , the spine gilt is there too which is normal faded away. There is a nick to, to the top of the spine cloth. The hinges are good, not springy but not broken and hold the boards up well, internally the pages are clean, a bithday not to the first right hand blank page written in 1945. The pages are clean, the photos are nice and a decent page block. A respectable, 100% original 1938.
