John Wisden's Cricketers' Almanack 1900 Hardback
This is a lovely copy of a rare early Wisden. The Wisden is in very good+ condition for its age (waivered between an 8 and a 9). No reserve.
The book has a stamp on the inside page KA Auty, Library of Cricket, Ridley College, St Catharines, Ontario and was owned by him. KA Auty is a legend and is immortalised on page 84 of the 1963 Wisden. This however is not an ex library copy as all Auty owners will know.
The gilt is bright on the front and spine and there are a couple of marks to the spine and one tiny mark on the back but none detract from the overall lovely quality of this book. There is a tiny piece of paper torn from the front page but is still in the book (see photo). The spine has been bumped on the bottom and top causing a small tear at the top (approx 1cm). The hinge at the front is slightly weak and has slight split at the bottom with the front papers very slightly torn (see photo). The back hinge is strong with some slight splitting (see photo). The Photoplate is in place and clean as are all the pages internally. The edges have browned with age, moreso on the top.
This book just had to be listed on Valentines Day, as I personally love it!!!
Postage is free worldwide. The book will be sent by special delivery to the UK or by a method that requires the buyer to sign for it overseas. The book will be insured under our private library insurance.
