Over the next few months I am going to have a Non Wisden of the Month, a cricket book with some uniqueness, here we have the Non-Wisden of the month for July2012
It is a book called "Farewell to Cricket" by Don Bradman and is a limited edition, numbered 273. The De luxe Edition that has 500 numbered copies and 5 lettered presentation copies. (A note inside says 150 for "The Collector's Book Club", I am not sure if this 150 more or part of the 500.
This book was published in May 1950 and a first edition and sells for 3 figures, but starting here at £30 without reserve.
Don Bradman was quite a player. OK, he only had a double figure test average :-) but the greatest Australian Player of all time.
It is in very good condition.
The book has a couple of tiny marks to the leather binding that could probably be wiped off, internally it has a few small foxing spots and the hinges look weak but are in fact springy and very good.
No reserve. Small start price.
Postage via special delivery, £12 approx to Australia.
